Lazy Lizard Shiraz Vin de Pays d’Oc – Boutinot
From the Label
“Lazy lizard is produced from the Shiraz grape variety, also known as Syrah, grown in the Languedoch region in the south of France. The Vineyard Lizards love to bask in the warmth of the late summer sun, which slowly ripens the Shiraz grapes to their full maturity, producing a smooth wine, rich in ripe spicy flavours.
Relax enjoy Lazy Lizard Shiraz, with red meats, barbeque’s and cheeses.”
A barbecue Wine
A tight Syrah vastly improved by decanting with red berry notes and a full-ish body. A wine to be enjoyed with red meat preferable done over a barbecue while lounging in the sunshine.
Not a wine I would give as a present but one I would happily take to diner especially if it were grilled. Not rack worth but certainly enjoyable
A Spicy French Shiraz
This medium bodied French Shiraz lacks the complexities of production typically found in an old world red, particularly from this region. This would go well with a lamb or sweet chilli dish.
Far from a cellar worthy vintage but a wine I would take to a barbecue or similarly relaxed social affair. Well worth a quaff.
