A Gluggable Wine
Deep purple red, with a complex nose and a smooth acidity. This would pair comfortably with a ragu sauce. A unique blend of Shiraz, Mourvèdre and Viognier unlike anything I've tried before.
Far from a complex wine but a very gluggable earthy wine for sharing. Not a bottle I'd be tempted to gift or keep in my wine rack but definitely one to try.
One Quirky Bird
This dark, fresh and vibrant glass paired beautifully with Lasagne but would be overpowered by a stronger dish, the dark fruity aromas offer insight to the balance of the blend. The Voignier brings this dark and spiced offering to life with a smooth citrus taste making it unlike any South African wine I've encountered before. That's not to say I would call this wine particularly smooth, or for that matter very complex nonetheless a thoroughly enjoyable wine.
For those looking for a simple red for cooking or having a relaxed day would do well to try the 'quirky bird' line. It has delicious primary fruit flavours that wont age well but I like it. A fun, not very serious midweek drink coming in at 14% alcohol. It is pretty quirky!
